WHAT IS CBD?
CBD, short for Cannabidiol is a non-psychoactive chemical compound from the Cannabis Sativa Plant (Hemp).
What is Broad Spectrum CBD?
CBD that has been extracted from the Cannabis Plant (Hemp) with all of the other compounds from the plant except for the THC, is known as Broad Spectrum CBD. It contains terpenes, essential oils, and other Cannabinoids from the Hemp Plant.
What is Homeostasis?
The tendency toward a stable equilibrium between interdependent elements, especially as maintained by physiological processes. Good health is achieved through physiological homeostasis through our endocannabinoid systems (ECS).
What is the Endocannabinoid System (ECS)?
The ECS is a biochemical communication system in the human body, which plays a crucial role in regulating our physiology, mood, and the homeostasis of our body.
Facilitates the generation of new neurons involved in neuroprotection, motor activity regulation, synaptic plasticity, and control of specific memory processing.
2) Gastrointestinal System
Helps protect GI tract from inflammation and abnormally high gastric and enteric secretions.
3) Hormones
Plays a significant role in the hypothalamic function which regulates metabolism, reproduction, and responses to stress.
4) Muscles
Enhance stamina by regulating blood sugar and encourages ‘runner’s’ high.
5) Immune System
Regulates the immune system by suppressing proinflammatory cytokine production.
6) Metabolism
Maintains balance by controlling food intake, metabolic functions, and energy storage, transporting nutrients, and modulating insulin sensitivity.
CANNABINOID RECEPTOR 1 (CB1)
CB1 Receptors are essential for a healthy functioning brain and are one of the most common receptors in the entire nervous system.
CANNABINOID RECEPTOR 2 (CB2)
CB2 Receptors are most often found on the cells of our immune system. They help moderate inflammation and our immune response to pathogens.
CBD & THE BODY’S ENDOCANNABINOID SYSTEM
Within the (ECS): CBD and other Cannabinoids act as keys, and receptors act like locks. Every time a Cannabinoid is introduced into your body, its “key” like property fits into the “lock” properties of the body receptors. The lock is opened and signals the Endocannabinoid system to work on creating homeostasis in the body thus, relieving pain, reducing inflammation, relaxes muscles, and so much more.
